• Entry 938: Saturday, August 27th, 2011

    Another day in the office working on DR. The whole team is working hard trying to tie up any loose ends in their department. Everyone is bracing for Hurricane Irene that is about to hit the east coast tomorrow. Many of the staff are boarding up windows and shopping for emergency items to get through the weather. Some out-of-town crew is being delayed travel into CT on Monday until the storm passes. Safety is the priority right now.

  • Entry 937: Friday, August 26th, 2011

    A long day. We were really productive day. We were able to secure housing for the out of state production crew. Kyle was able to post a call for extras on this website. We also decided on a very talented Director of Prinicpal Photography. We also received a nice in-kind sponsorship from a major retailer. Things are looking well.

  • Entry 936: Thursday, August 25th, 2011

    Today we the team will try to lockdown all outstanding activities for the week. I should be able to secure most of the housing for crew and talent. The art department will be extremely busy working on set dressings and making costumes. The location department is busy with the administrative work of sites. The menu is being created for craft services—feeding the crew and actors is one of the most important aspects of on-location shooting. Another local paper has reached out to us to do a story.

  • Entry 935: Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

    Another busy day. The team worked hard to prepare for Principal Photography. One of focus today was to secure housing for crew and talent. More work is being added to the new website in development. I think these changes will create more traffic to the site, in turn making us more attractive to sponsors.

  • Entry 934: Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011

    A long day. We had a great meetng w/city officials who are working with us to make the film a great experience in Hartford. A reporter from independent film making magazine "Imagine" came down to plan a feature story on Diamond Ruff. Kyle and I also worked ith Ellis today to develop a new logo, brand and poster for the project. He is one of the most talented graphic designer and fine arts painter in the country . It will be a pleasure wrking w/a creative mind like his. We have brought Ron on as a producer and unit production manager. He will make sure nothing gets through the cracks as we get closer to principal photography in a cpl. weeks. The Greeks soldiers helments that Diamond and his crew wear when they try to rob the bank cmae in. They look authentic and great. Things are looking pretty good--but we have to stay focused and humble.

  • Entry 933: Monday, August 22nd, 2011

    This will be a very big week. Trying to wrap up all the casting for supporting roles and securing all the crew. Principal photgraphy is scheduled for September 6th. I'm excited and nrevous at the same time knowing after 3 years of struggle we will begin to see the fruits of our labor. I thank God for all the special people he has sent ot get this project done on the 1 yard line.

    Today myself and director Alec will meet with a talented photographer who is interested in joining the team. We are a few weeks away from Principal Photography--things are heating up. The daily paper let me know they will be covering opening day. Now we have to work harder than ever.

  • Entry 931: Saturday, August 20th, 2011

    A busy day. Last night myself some of my family and crew saw Comedian Michael Colyar perform in Waterbury, CT. He did a great job. He has a gift for lacing social conscience matters w/humor. He will be a great additon to the Diamond Ruff cast.

  • Entry 930: Friday, August 19th, 2011

    We are still receiving positive feedback from the Hartford Courant article. It's hard to keep up with all the responses, but we have set up a system to response to it. My daughter Paige is overseeing the DR Facebook Paige. We have created Diamond as a real character that people are following. She is also creating profiles for the other characters from the movie. Alot of meeting are set up today with sponsors. The art department is working hard creating props and set dressings. The schooting schedule has been revised many times we will have a final draft today from "Lucky" our first AD.

  • Entry 929: Thursday, August 18th, 2011

    A front cover article in the Hartford Courant came out today. We were bombarded with calls and visits from people who read the article. The media is very powerful. Some congratulatory letters to the principal performers went out todaqy. Within the next cpl days supporting and background actor letters will go out out in the mail. All departments of the team are working hard to make this project happen. Today was good day.
